Therapy
Occupational Therapy is the therapeutic use of self-care,
work and leisure activities to increase independent function,
enhance development and prevent disability. It includes adapting
tasks and the environment to maximize independence and quality
of life.
The term occupation refers to activities that are meaningful
to the individual within the environments in which the person
lives and functions (from The American Occupational Therapy
Association).
Conditions Benefiting from Occupational Therapy

disorders or injuries, joint replacements, tendonitis,
carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis and loss of fingers.
Benefits may include pain control, coordination training
and improved functional independence through splinting
and/or training in use of adaptive equipment. |

of work tools or work site, change in task procedures
