Salem, Mass. (April 14, 2008) – Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospital recently held a farewell luncheon at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem to honor volunteers for their countless hours of service. The celebration, although bittersweet, was a fantastic tribute to all who contributed their time, talents and generosity to the gift shop over the years.
Since it’s inception in 1978, the Dove Gift Shop had been entirely staffed and operated by volunteers. Their extraordinary dedication and efforts allowed the shop to provide gift shop services to hospital families, visitors and staff for 30 years. The new Dove Café opens this spring and will offer coffee and food items, as well as fresh flowers, cards and magazines.
